Transcending Words
In a world where words may fail,
Art emerges, a vessel to sail,
Through tempest storms of emotion,
A balm, a solace, a healing potion.
From innocent depths of the human soul,
A journey unfolds of stories untold,
Transforming thoughts, the masterpiece,
A solace found, our pain released.
Emotional awareness & the journey begins,
Regulation follows, a new pathway to coping,
Self-expression blooms, a canvas seeded,
Symbolism, metaphor, we sow what’s needed.
Empathy and connection arise,
In the beholder’s heart, a new bond ties,
Emotions shared, validation anew,
A sense of belonging, connections found true.
Through art our true voices amplified,
Marginalised distortions no longer denied,
Frida Kahlo, Shepard Fairey too,
Shattered taboos, forged paths anew.
From van Gogh’s melancholy hues,
To Munch’s anxious “Scream” our emotions renew,
Each artist shares their struggles to be embraced,
Their emotions channelled, to see touch and taste.
In the end, art’s rich power writhes,
In re-connections to our long lost compromise,
A bridge between souls, a shared empathy,
A world united in compassion and artistry.
